Thursday, June 30, 2022 – Today, Sankyo Rikagaku Co., Ltd. (Sankyo Rikagaku) announced the appointment of Kyoko FUJIYA as President & CEO effective June 30, 2022. Ms. Fujiya will lead the newly expanded Sankyo Rikagaku Group, which includes Zibo Riken MT Coated Abrasives Co., Ltd. (Riken Taishan) and Zibo Sisha MT Coated Abrasives Co., Ltd (collectively, Taishan Group). On the same day, Sankyo Rikagaku announced the completion of the acquisition of Taishan Group.

Celebrating its 92nd anniversary this year, Sankyo Rikagaku provides abrasive cloth / paper, abrasive films, grinding wheels, and polishing equipment to customers in a wide range of industries including automotive, metal, woodworking, electronic components, DIY etc. Taishan Group in China is leveraging its technological expertise and production capabilities developed over the past 20 years to develop a range of products for woodworking, metalworking, and DIY applications for customers in China, the United States, India, Southeast Asia, South America, Africa, Europe etc. By acquiring the Taishan Group, Sankyo Rikagaku is further able to increase production capacity and expand product portfolio.

Ms. Fujiya has held multiple key positions in the healthcare division of General Electric (GE) in Japan and the Asia Pacific region. By leveraging years of extensive leadership experience in global companies, Ms. Fujiya will lead the acceleration of Sankyo Rikagaku’s business development in Japan and overseas markets.

I am honored to assume the position of President & CEO of Sankyo Rikagaku, a company with a long history and tradition. At the

same time, I am keenly aware of the importance of this responsibility as we enter a major turning point with the acquisition of Taishan Group. Our company has been supported by customers in a wide range of industries, including automotive, metal, woodworking, electronic components, DIY, etc., and this year marks the 92nd anniversary of our founding. Our recent acquisition of Taishan Group has enabled us to expand the development and manufacturing at both of our manufacturing bases in Japan and China, taking advantage of our respective strengths. We will continue accelerating our global expansion and strive to become the No. 1 polishing solution provider in Asia.

Kyoko FUJIYA’s Business Career

Ms. Fujiya spent 27 years in General Electric’s (GE) healthcare division, holding multiple leadership positions in sourcing, SCM, and service businesses in Japan and the Asia Pacific region. She then spent two years managing a venture company, and in July 2021, she was appointed as an external director of Sankyo Rikagaku. In December 2021, she joined the company as Director and Managing Executive Officer and was appointed President & CEO on June 30, 2022.
