HISTORY

1930 Established by Yasushi Kaneko as private management. (The newly established domestic first Wet or dry sheets's factory in Tokyo)
1953 Sankyo Rikagaku Co., Ltd. was incorporated for the purposes of marketing abrasive paper and cloth, with its headquarters at Marunouchi, Tokyo, and capitalized at one million yen.
1958 Plant moved from Urawa to Okegawa, Saitama. Started production and marketing of abresive paper and endless abrasive belts.
1962 Acquired Sankyo Synthetics Industries Ltd., at a ratio of 1:32, in the search to achive a stable management foundation.
1963 Succeeded in developing abrasive cloth in sheets and rolls, and also waterproof abrasive cloth belts.
1980 Sanshinsha, Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary, was incorporated (capital:¥20million)in Saitama City, for manufacturing of rotary sanding tools.
1985 Unique Inc. was incorporated in Canada, as a joint venture.
1988 Started production and marketing of Fine finishing film and Super finishing film series.
1993 Vitraco Sankyo Industries Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated in Malaysia, as a joint venture, for secondary operation and marketing of abrasive cloth/paper.
1994 Developed new abrasive grains for woodworking and coated films, which were marketed as Grand Super Series.
1999 Headquarters moved to Okegawa, Saitama, alongside Okegawa Plant.
2001 Obtained ISO 9001 Certification.
2001 Completed the acquisition of Fuji Star Coated Abrasives, Inc. to build up marketing in the North American market, and established an affiliate.
2001 Acquired a whole share of a joint venture company, Rezbond Abrasives Co., Ltd. and established a subsidiary company.
2002 Established a joint venture company with G-Team Machinery(Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China.
2002 Started manufacture and marketing of abrasive rolls for PCB.
2003 Obtained ISO 14001 Certification.
2007 Amalgamated UNIQUE and REZBOND, Canadian subsidiaries, and changed the company name to FUJI STAR CANADA INC.
